Emily has always had a love for singing from an early age and would often be found singing into a hair brush along to her favourite songs!
Emily attended Stagecoach where she began delving into singing on stage and vocal technique methods. Alongside this she was a regular at community choirs who performing in concerts and tours in Europe. This broadened her vocal range and introduced different genres of music.
In her teenage years, Emily leapt into the world of theatre, attending various theatre productions and operas which ignited a passion for musical theatre.
This is when she decided to have singing lessons as she wanted to discover what her voice was truly capable of. These lessons helped shape her voice to become stronger, healthy and supported. She enjoyed exploring a range of genres such as classical, baroque, jazz, folk and pop music, along with exam and audition technique and repertoire.
Emily then undertook actor musicianship training at Rose Bruford drama school where all of her experience, skills and passion she had gained was developed and moulded into a professional craft.
Here, she continued to have singing lessons, acting through song coaching, enjoyed being the lead singer in bands and regularly composed and taught vocals for shows.
In her spare time she is also a singer songwriter where she has often used her spoken word and poetry as lyrics. She enjoys performing these songs in various open mic nights and paid gigs and events.
Emily also has experience of working with adults and children with additional needs and various learning methods and styles. She believes it is vital to work with the individual to create a tailored lesson.
Singing is such a integral part of Emily's life and she understands that the voice is (quite literally) part of and inside someone. This often leads itself to people feeling embarrassed and experiencing low self confidence when it comes to expressing and exploring their voice.
These lessons are not only for people who would like to pursue a potential career in singing, those looking to take exams etc...but also for people who have never sung a note in their life or who simply have a spark of interest that they would like to explore...
Emily's lessons are a safe space with no judgement. Come and have some fun and tap into your creativity - which is what singing is all about!
